From 1973 to 1990 Chile was ruled by a ruthless dictator named Augustine Pinochet. The Museum of Memory and Human Rights is a history museum dedicated to the people who lost their lives, were tortured, and the many who suffered human rights violations during this time. This is a heavy museum, but very important in understanding the Chilean culture and cultural backlash in response to these recent atrocities.
